Antique George II Silver Waiter of shaped circular form on three cast feet, scroll shaped rim with cast shell and scroll edge; marked by William Peaston at London in 1752/53. 1.12" high, 8.25" diameter, 12.8 troy oz. Engraved stag armorial with stag crest and Latin motto "Non timeo sed caveo". $ 1,500.
1495-04.jpg (55857 bytes) 1495-04. Antique George III Silver-mounted Wood Cruet of typical form on turned foot, the revolving turntable holding five cut glass bottles with silver caps, the turned column ending in a hinged scroll handle; struck twice on the handle only with the mark of Jane Dorrell & Richard May, working in London 1766-1771. No mono. Frame: 11.0" high, 8.0" wide, 5.0" foot diameter; Bottles: 5.5"-6.5" high, 2.12"-2.38" diameter. The wood frame has been restored, one silver cap is cracked. An unusual and rare survival. $ 950.

Pair Antique George III Silver Candlesticks with shell- and gadroon-edged decorated cast shaft on shaped square cast base with shells on the corners, unmarked detachable bobeche fitting into the nozzle; marked by John Cafe at London in 1771/72. Engraved with widow's armorial on the base and bobeche. 10" high overall, 4.5" square base, 2.5" square bobeche, 37.8 troy oz. total. Repair to one shaft resulting in slight lean. Some surface wear. Antique George III Silver Pepper Castor of double bellied baluster form on vdy nf turned spresading foot, the pierced cover with cast swirling bud finial; marked (TW) possibly by Thomas Wallis I (Grimwade #3848) at London in 1775/76. No mono. 5.75" high, 1.75" foot diameter, 3.4 troy oz. Repairs to body; mono presumably erased. $ 250.

Antique George III Silver Tankard of classical form, the tapering cylindrical body decorated with upper and lower bands of horizontal rings, very slightly domed cover with cast thumb piece,  applied molded rim and flat panel double scroll hollow handle; marked [I•R] for John Robins at London in 1798/99. Script mono "WSW" on cover. 6.88" high, 6.5" long, 3.75" lip diameter, 4.25" foot diameter, pints capacity, 28.8 troy oz. $ 2,800.

Pair Antique George IV Silver Snuffer Trays of shaped hourglass form on four cast floral and scroll feet, the tray surface chased with floral, foliate, and scroll repoussι decoration within a cast and chased rim decorated with floral, scroll, figural eagle, and lion mask motifs, the handle cast and chased as an undulating scaled snake; marked [IW] for John Wakefield at London in 1820/21. 3.0" high, 9.25" long, 3.75" wide, 22.3 troy oz. total. Antique George IV Silver Pint Mug of thistle form on pedestal base, chased acorn and leaf band and cast floral decorated scroll handle; marked by William Bateman II at London in 1826/27. Antique Victorian Silvergilt Wine Goblet engraved with vine decoration; marked by Henry Wilkinson & Co. at London in 1872/73. 5.88" high, 2.69" lip diameter, 2.75" foot diameter. Antique Victorian Silvergilt Open Sugar Bowl of wide barrel form, the sides chased with foliate decoration above figural Zodiac(?) repoussι decoration probably derived from Asiatic sources within the British Empire; marked (JAR) in a trefoil probably for J. A. Round at Sheffield in 1873/74 and also engraved "MR. STREETER LONDON" on the base for the retail jeweler. 2.62" high, 3.5" lip diameter, 2.25" foot diameter, 4.4 troy oz. Slight wear to the gilding at the high points. $ 200.

Antique Victorian Silver Dresser Box of cylindrical form with ruffled foot and cover rims, the domed slip-on cover and body chased with grotesque and fantastical mask, floral, and scroll decoration; marked by William Comyns at London in 1896/97 and struck with the French import mark when retailed by Tiffany & Co. at their Paris shop. Mono "LMP". 3.88" high, 3.88" diameter,  6.7 troy oz. $ 800.

Edward VII Silver Pocket Flask of rectangular form with removable cup base, engraved allover with floral and foliate scroll decoration; the body and cup marked by Arthur & John Zimmerman at Birmingham in 1906/07, the outer cap marked by Thomas Jones Watson at London in 1906/07. Crichton for Crichton Bros. at London in 1927/28, the Tea Pot and Stand  marked by their Crichton & Co. division in New York NY. All pieces engraved with armorial within scroll reserve. George V Silver Hot Water Kettle on Stand, the pot of octagonal reproduction form with silver-mounted wood swing handle, the stand supporting a burner within four cat scroll legs on bun feet, two chained keys permit separation of the pot from the stand and hinge; marked by C. S. Harris & Sons Ltd. at London in 1928/29 and retailed by Tiffany & Co. in London.  14.5" overall, 70 troy oz.; Pot: 10.5" high, 8.5" long, 6.5" wide, 3.25 pints capacity; Stand: 4.25" high, 7.25" wide. Engraved feline crest. 8.75" long, 1.62" bowl width, 14.3 troy oz. total. The decorative pattern is similar to 'Feather Edge' but instead of being engraved it is chased on both sides of the handle. 1532-54.jpg (57940 bytes) 1532-54. 60 Piece Antique William IV Silver Flatware Set in the 'Scroll Rosette' pattern consisting of 12 each Table Spoons, Table Forks, Dessert Spoons, Dessert Forks, and Tea Spoons; marked at London in 1835/36 with the [LS] of Lewis Samuel of Liverpool struck over the obliterated  [WC] of William Chawner for Chawner & Co. Engraved with "L" above a crest featuring a hand grasping a rooster(?). Table Spoon: 9" long, 1.94" bowl width; Table Fork: 9.25" long, 1.0" wide across tines; Dessert Spoon: 7.25" long, 1.56" bowl width; Dessert Fork: 6.88" long, 0.88" width across tines; Tea Spoon: 5.75" long, 1.25" bowl width; total weight 144 troy oz. Antique George III Silver Small Patch Box of rectangular book form with floral motif on the slip-on cover and base, the "spine" and "pages" engraved appropriately; marked only [IT] possibly for Joseph Taylor or one of the other Birmingham small workers, c.1790-1820. Antique Victorian Traveling Toilet Set contained in its original leather-covered box; an upper tray fitted with four various sized rectangular hinged silvergilt boxes with the tops and sides engraved with engine-turned decoration, two rectangular glass flasks with similarly decorated silvergilt cylindrical collars and hinged caps, and a similarly decorated cylindrical silvergilt shaving brush housing; the lower tray fitted with seven tortoiseshell handled pieces including two razors, a nail file, an awl, a button hook, a very small corkscrew, and a knife (some pieces with gold trim), a two part small steel corkscrew, a gilt metal corkscrew, and an 18k gold earwax remover / tweezers; an interior bottom flap with spring to hold flat papers; the hinged cover housing a detachable easel mirror. The gold earwax remover / tweezers and silvergilt boxes and flasks marked by Thomas Diller at London in 1845/46, the steel blades of the razors and nail files marked by Edwards, the steel blades on the knife marked by Asprey, and the case lock marked by J. Bramah of 124 Picadilly. No monos. The case 3.38" high, 9.75" long, 5.62" wide, the leather chipped with a very large piece missing from the backside. Box sizes are 6.12" x 1.12" x 1.12", 3.25" x 1.12" x 2.0", 3.12" x 1.12" x 1.25" (2); Flasks are 4.38" x 1.12" x 1.0";  Shaving Brush housing (missing fittings) is 3.06" x 0.88" diameter; the fitted lower tray missing two scissors, several of the tortoiseshell handles missing small pieces. 1513-32.jpg (38013 bytes) 1513-32. George V Silver Napkin Ring of plain cylindrical form with rolled half-round rims (#KB763); made at the Sterling Works factory of the Gorham Mfg. Co. and marked at Birmingham in 1911/12. Engraved "Youart" in slanted script. 1.0" high, 1.5" diameter, 0.35 troy oz. Small scratches and dings. Antique George II Irish Silver Bowl of plain hemispherical fore on molded spreading circular foot, applied thick threaded lip rim; struck on the side with the harp crowned and date letter for 1730 Dublin but without a maker's mark. 4.38" high, 7.38" lip diameter, 4.62, foot diameter, 16.1 troy oz. The bowl has been repaired and polished; any original engraving it had is now gone. $ 850.

Antique Edward VII Silver Toast Rack with five fins on a champhered rectangular base above four cast paw feet, oblong octagonal handle, the base fitted with a screw-in cap to allow filling the hollow interior with hot water for keeping the toast warm; manufactured by Hukin & Heath at Birmingham in 1909/10 for "Lockwood 75 New Bond St. Patent 28511-08". No mono. 5.75" high, 5.75" long, 4.38" wide, 25.7 troy oz. A similar looking but plated example with ring handle and ball feet was sold on eBay from London in November 2009. SOLD
