Examples could be from anywhere although some categories tend to be more country specific than others (most vinaigrettes and English, most Sugar Boxes are Austrian or German, etc.).

Antique Austrian Silver Dresser Box of square form, the hinged lid with applied reeded rim and inset with a green Wedgwood plaque of an allegorical(?) hunting scene; marked by Alexander Sturm at Vienna, c.1885-1910. 1.5" high, 4.75" square, 3.38" diameter plaque, 14.1 troy oz. gross. Engraved armorial device; an inscription has been erased. $ 900.

Antique George III Silver Small Patch Box of rectangular book form with floral motif on the slip-on cover and base, the "spine" and "pages" engraved appropriately; marked only [IT] possibly for Joseph Taylor or one of the other Birmingham small workers, c.1790-1820. No mono. 0.88" long, 0.69" wide, 0.19" thick, 0.15 troy oz. $ 150.

Mexican Silver Figural Covered Dish in the form of a duck, the head with inset turquoise eyes and worn gilt bill, the body chased with feathers and opening at a horizontal seam; made at the Josι Marmolejo workshop for Tane of Mexico City, c.1960-1980. 6.5" high, 10" long, 5.5" wide, 2.12" high at the seam, 33 troy oz. Antique German Silver Dresser Box of oval form with slightly domed hinged lid, the sides engraved with foliate bands at the top and bottom rims, screwed in lock; marked by [WEIGEL.] at Kassel, c.1830-1860. Mono "E.R.G." on the cover. 2.25" high, 5.0" long, 3.75" deep, 9.0 troy oz. Recently repaired and polished with patches at lower base rim and upper hinge joint, some rough joints. $ 275.

Chinese Silver Sewing Kit of cylindrical form with slip top, the cover and sides chased with floral and foliate decoration, holding a five section bobbin incorporating a needle holder; the base struck with an unidentified ideogram, c.1880-1930. No mono. 4.38" high, 1.12" diameter, 2.4 troy oz. gross (including thread). There is a split to the seam where the top is attached to the cap. $ 300.

German Silver Box of oval form with ruffled base and cover rims, the slightly domed cover embossed with a view of a hunter and his dog pursuing a rabbit, the sides embossed with foliate scroll decoration; struck with three unidentified pseudo-hallmarks, c.1900-1935. 1.5" high, 3.5" long, 2.88" wide, 3.3 troy oz. Engraved on base "MAH 1950". $ 150.

Antique Hungarian Silver Box of rectangular for, the sides formed as five narrow horizontal concave moldings, the flat hinged cover constructed of scroll filigree wirework; struck with an unidentified maker's mark at Budapeste, c.1872-1900. 1.75" high, 3.62" long, 3.38" wide, 3.0 troy oz. Antique French Silver Snuffbox of rectangular form, the base and slightly concave sides decorated with repetitive niello scaling, the hinged cover depicting a view of "SEBASTOPOL" with ships in the harbor, gilt interior; marked by the unidentified <AG>? at Paris and also struck with an unidentified  import mark. No mono. 3.25" long, 1.5" wide, 1.0" deep, 3.8 troy oz. Some dings and loss to the niello decoration. $ 450.

Antique Czechoslovakian Silver Snuffbox of typical rectangular form, the sides and bottom engraved with foliate scroll decoration, the hinged cover engraved with an unidentified town view including a clock tower; marked by the unknown (JH) at Prague in 1847 3.25" long, 2.0" wide, 0.62" thick, 2.7 troy oz. Worn surface, some dings, one corner with small hole, interior re-gilt. $ 250.

No mono. 2.12" long, 1.12" wide, 0.38" thick, 0.5 troy oz. Some dings and the interior flange of the cover has a later small notch in it. $ 175.

Antique Austrian Silver Cigarette Case of shaped rectangular hinged form, the cover decorated with ivy surrounding an oval reserve with niello background, the back similarly decorated; marked by the the unidentified [M&S] at Vienna c.1875-1900. 3.62" long, 2.0" wide, 0.88" thick, 2.8 troy oz. Mono erased, surface wear, missing interior elastic straps. $ 175.

Antique German Silver Sugar Box of oblong plain bombι form on four hollow bun feet, the slightly domed hinged cover with applied thin foliate thumb piece, lock bolted to front interior; marked on the inside base [JάRST] together with an unidentified eagle town mark (most similar to Rosenberg #9594) possibly for Heilbronn, Aachen, Prussia, or Uberlingen, c.1840-1879. No mono. 3.0" high, 5.5" long, 4.25" deep; cover is 4.75" long, 3.5" deep; 12.0 troy oz. It is marked "NN" on the base probably when it was electroplated at a later date; presumably they did not realize it was solid silver. The base is rotated several degrees off center to the body.  $ 500.

Antique George III Silver Vinaigrette of cut-cornered curved rectangular form, the base and hinged cover engraved with a foliate border, the gilt interior with a hinged pierced grill; marked by Samuel Pemberton at Birmingham  in 1818/19. 0.5" high, 1.75" long, 1.25" deep, x troy oz. Mono probably erased. Sold solder repair to outside hinge, later interior gilding. $ 425.
